#
  • %OWN - Percent Owned. Percent of Fantasy Leagues in which the player is owned.
  • 1B - Single; Batter reaches first base without a fielding error.
  • 2B - Double; Batter reaches second base without a fielding error.
  • 3B - Triple; Batter reaches third base without a fielding error.
  • 5 x 5 -  5 x 5  league is where five hitting stats (usually BA, R, HR,RBI,STL) and five pitching stats (usually W,S,SO,ERA,WHIP) are used for scoring.
A
  • AB - At Bats; Batting Appearances Not Including BB, HBP, Sacrifice, Interference, or Obstruction.
  • AB/HR - At Bats per Home Run.  Calculated by taking At Bats divided by Home Runs.
  • AVG (also BA) - Batting Average.  Calculated by takings Hits divided by At Bats. 
B
  • BA - See AVG
  • BABIP - Batting Avg on balls in play.  How often a batter reaches base after putting a ball in play.
  • BB - Walk.  Base on Balls.  Base taken after 4 balls.
  • BB/K - Walks to Strikeout Ratio.  Calculated by taking BB divided by Ks.
  • BTL - Batter Team Loss.
  • BTW - Batter Team Win.
C
  • CS - Caught Stealing.  Times tagged out while attempting to steal a base.
  • CYC - Hitting for the Cycle.  When a player hits a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game, though not necessarily in that order.
D
  • DPT - Double Plays Turned.  One for each double play during which the fielder recorded a putout or an assist.
E
  • E - Errors.  Times a fielder fails to make a play that he should have made with common effort where the offense benefits.
  • ER - Earned Runs.  Runs that did not occur as a result of errors.
F
  • FC - Fielder's Choice.  Times reaching base when the fielder chooses to try for an out on another runner instead of the batter.
G
  • G - Games
  • G/F - Ground ball fly ball ration.  Calculated by taking Ground Balls divided by Fly Balls.
  • GIDP - Ground into Double Play.  Number of balls hit causing a double play.
  • GS (also GSHR) - Grand Slams. Bases loaded Home Run.
  • GWRBI - Game Winning RBI.
H
  • H - Hits.  Number of times batter reaches a base due to fair ball and no defensive errors.
  • HBP - Hit By Pitch.  Times hit by pitch and awarded first base.
  • HR - Home runs.  Number of hits where batter touches all four bases without aid of fielding error.
I
  • IBB - Intentional Base on Balls.  Times walked (see BB) intentionally by pitcher.
  • IP - Innings Pitched.  Number of outs recorded while pitching divided by three.
K
  • K (also SO)- Strikeouts.  Times that strike three is taken, swung at and missed, or bunted foul.
O
  • OBP - On Base Percentage.  Times reached base (H + HBP + BB) divided by (AB + BB + HBP + SF).
  • OFAST - Outfield Assists.  An assist is awarded to every defensive player who fields or touches the ball (after it has been hit by the batter) prior to the recording of a putout (PO).
P
  • PO - Putouts.  Times the fielder tags, forces, or appeals a runner and he is called out as a result.
Q
  • QS - Quality Starts.  Game where a starting pitcher completes at least six innings and permits no more than three earned runs.
R
  • R - Runs Scored.  Times a player crosses home plate.
  • RBI - Runs Batted In.  Number of runners who scored because of a batters' action, except when batter grounded into double play or reached on an error.
S
  • SAC - Sacrifices.  Number of fly ball outs to the outfield or sacrifice bunts which allows another runner to advance on the basepaths or score.
  • SB - Stolen Bases.  Bases advanced other than on batted balls, walks, or hits by pitch.
  • SHO - Shutout.  Complete game pitched with no runs allowed.
  • SLG - Slugging Percentage.  Total Bases (TB) divided by At Bats (AB).
  • SV - Save.  
  • SVO - Save Opportunity.
T
  • TB - Total Bases.  Total number of bases batter reaches on hit.  One for a single, two for a double, three for a triple, and four for a home run.
W
  • W - Wins.  Games where pitcher was pitching while his team took the lead and went on to win.
  • WHIP - Walks and Hits per Inning Pitched.  Average number of hits and walks allowed by a pitcher per inning.
  • WP - Wild Pitches.  When a pitch is too high, low, or wide of home plate for the catcher to field and one or more runners advance.
